still sick

Here is Garden Flowers - it's really a small piece - I didn't realise just how so until I got the almost the right edge only after a couple of hours of stitching. But I really like it and I'm still seeing it as a potential rug someday.

I'm still sick and while I don't feel very ill, I'm feeling really tired and nap time has a big draw. I worked from home yesterday and did manage a tiny one during the day. I also got going on my next rug project. It's just a little heart and I'll finish it off into a pillow. This one is smaller than my last one - only 10 x 10. But I think it's very cute.
Last night I finally got going on my Glove Class work - part 2 just came out and I haven't touched it yet. Remember it's the one I signed up for late last year from Thistle Threads? I very quickly remembered why I like cross stitching so much. I had so much trouble with even the basic outlining with a backstitch. Without the warp and the weave to guide me I'm lost. After I backstitched only two flowers (just that took forever I swear) I then had to do a long and short stitch to complete the flower. I worked on it for what felt like hours and never was happy with my results so I ended up cutting out every I had put in. I'll try again tonight with more penciled in guidelines on the linen. It's a good thing Tricia said there was lots of extra silk. I suppose I could practice on another piece of linen until I get the hang of it but I really don't roll that way. :-)

Margie, sorry to hear you're still sick. :( Not fun! I love your rabbit piece, and the new rug -- fantastic! As for embroidery versus cross stitch, yes, I'm the same way. I need the linen threads to tell me where to put the needle! lol! I'm going to try taking that second class of Tricia's though, in hopes that I can actually do some embroidery for a change. We'll see1

Love the little rabbit piece. I am so sorry to hear you are still sick. You're managing to get a lot done while you're sick though! The little hooked heart is fabulous. Oh, I can't wait to learn!

You are really doing great with your hooking - I missed your last couple of posts so I'm going to say that the quilts photos were fantastic! Sorry you are still under the weather - hope the pug snugs are all around you making your feel much better soon! Mel

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. It has been a long cold winter and that is so draining. Take the naps. Your body is trying to tell you it needs the rest.

Both pieces look great. Now rest and get better soon.

Sorry to hear that you're still not feeling well. Hopefully as the weekend goes along you'll feel better. You're making great progress on your pieces and your heart rug looks wonderful.

Oh, feel better soon! It's no fun to be sick, esp. when you have other things you want to do and can't find the energy!

Good progress on both WIPs!
