A lost day

This morning when I got on the train, I settled in for my hour and twenty minute train ride to work and pulled out my stitching. I finished the length of silk I was working on (about twenty stitches worth) and went into my bag for another piece. Well hell, there was no silk. On last night's ride home, I dropped my bag and the two skeins of HDF Imperialosity I had there must have fallen out and I didn't notice. So I had no silk to work with. Other than briefly worrying that now I might be short a skein on my IsaV Grand Marquior piece, I simply pulled out the other project I have in there to work on this week, my Beatrix Potter. The last time I left off, I was only partially done with one of the motifs so I got to work on that. When I went into the bag to pull out another piece of the chart (because of the size of the chart, I made several smaller working copies) and discovered didn't have any other pieces of the chart. I never put a new section in my bag when I left off last time!

So nothing to work on for the ride in and nothing to work on the way home. :-( Such a bummer a whole wasted day.

Argh! I hate it when that happens. I often leave early to pick up the kids, getting a good parking space in the process & some stitching time. More than once I've arrived, taken out my stitching, and realized I didn't bring my silk or forgotten a needle. :P Hope you get some stitching time tonight!

I hate when that type of thing happens. It's happened to both my girlfriend and myself when we've met up at a restaurant for show-and-tell. Or another bad thing is when you've left your spare needles at home and that is the day you lose one - not any other time, just that day!!! Hope you make up for your lost stitching time tonight.

That is the worst - but I look at it this way - things happen for a reason, so you might have had frogs or something visit that day even if you had stitched. ;)

How frustrating! I always have a book with me as well as my stitching. Just in case. I too commute by train (an hour and 15 min) so I make sure I have something too. The one thing I am forever forgetting? Scissors!

Oooo, that really sucks! Tonight before bed, gather everything up and makes double sure it's all there. Oh and this would be a good excuse to start another project for a just-in-case!

Oh no!! I somewhat know how that feels..... Sometimes when I go pick up my DH from work I often forget to bring my stitchings along, and I wished I had it with me so I won't be wasting time waiting in the parking lot...

Oh, that's so frustrating. I'm so sorry to hear that. Here's to a better day tomorrow.

That's soooo frustrating! I sure hope you have enough Imperialosity to finish your Isa V sampler. How awful to have to sit and twiddle your thumbs instead of stitching! Argh! I feel your pain! lol!

How awful to not have anything to stitch on. Time really drags when that happens too.

Did you find your lost silk or did you have to replace it?
