Joy
It snowed around 5 inches so far in Gurnee. But more is still expected today, tomorrow and Sunday with another storm lurking out west. Welcome to winter.

Christmas Tree
I have one more to do and I was just going to stitch this one twice but after looking through the 2007 issue again, I decided to do a different one. I'm going to stitch the Lizze*Kate Joy ornament with the same fibers.
And I still had time leftover to work on St. Reatham and I put page 7 to bed! I should be able to complete page 8 by the time I go to bed tonight. :-)
Those of us in Northern Illinois are under a winter weather watch tonight and tomorrow. Right now the forecast is for 12" inches of snow. I'm so ready for winter to be over already and it doesn't officially start until Sunday.

a ton of progress
I did paint my box for my Keepsake Box but that was about it. I'm home sick today and I hope to get a little more done. To sick to work but not sick enough to craft.

Keepsake Box Finis
I finished up Keepsake Box on the train last night. Super quick stitch, I think I might make another for my sister for her Christmas gift. Same colors even as I have plenty left of each skein. :-) Tonight I'll paint the box and pick out the fabric for the lining.

just a little progress
As for the agility trial, we had no success. I'm starting to stress way to much and Clancy can feel it so now he is a basket case. We are going to take an AKC break for several months and just do some low key agility trials that don't matter to me so we can get our confidence back. So it's off to NADAC and CPE for a while. They have different rules and since I don't care about our results and we can just play, we will both remember how to have fun at trials. And the good thing about this is, Molly can come along and play also. She did pretty good at NADAC trials in the past mostly because the lack of pressure on her. I might even enter Aoife in a few runs to get her feet wet.

Edgar is a star :-)
When I got home today from the trial, there was a package from Edgar waiting for me. He went way beyond anything I would have expected - actually I didn't expect Edge to do anything, as the organizer of this exchange, he already has done more than enough. But he sent me Paradigm Lost from Long Dog Samplers from my wish list for my birthday. :-) His kindness is so welcome and I don't have quite the words to adequately express how touched I am. In the big picture, it is a small thing not to have received anything from the birthday exchange but one that did kind of hit in the gut. The generosity of some people however, more than makes up for it.
Thanks so much Edgar and Jill! The warm feelings you have generated in me, will last for a long time.

Random Acts of Kindness
Jill I just don't know what to say. I'm very overwhelmed by your kindness and I can't thank you enough. :-) You truly made my day, week, month.... :-)
Clancy and I were at an agility trial today and one of the best of the year. But alas, he had the same kind of runs we have been having for months now. Great runs but he is popping out of the weave poles. Actually he has made an improvement over the past several months, he is at least making his entries but is only completing a portion of the entire set of 12. And he seems to have a favorite place to exit early, around the fifth or sixth pole. It's usually stress that makes a dog do this and we are working very hard at keeping his level down.
I did have time to start the new Loose Feathers. This is going to be a quick one. I'm using floss from my stash and I love the colors I have picked out. In fact, it looks really close to the model. :-)

Book of Ink Circles - Part 13 finis
Clancy and I will be in Milwaukee Wisconsin for the next four days at a great agility trial called Hounds for the Holidays. It's always a blast and I know a ton of people who will be there also. Our goal is to work like a team. I can't get much more modest than that. :-) I'm tossing the new Loose Feathers into my bag and I hope to at least start it. I have so much I want to stitch right now and just not enough hours in the day. :-)

Loose Feathers Mystery Part 4 finis
I took this photo of my Clancy at the trial last weekend. He always looks so serious. :-)

long time no blog
Clancy and I spent the last three days at an agility trial in Northern Indiana. I'm not sure if I will do that trial again because of how long it took to drive back and forth each day. At least an hour and forty minutes down and back. That's a bit too long for us. Clancy was very erratic all three days and we didn't have any qualifying scores. I'm really struggling with finding the balance of what he needs before we run. Some dogs like to be wound up and some like to be quiet. I'm starting to think that Clancy is a quiet type of dog. He did much better when we just sat on the side of the ring with me petting him before our runs than when I hyped him up with treats and such. I'm calling it Zen Puppy. :-) We have a four day trial in Milwaukee starting on Thursday and I'll continue with the calming actions before our runs and see what happens.
I did manage to finish part four of the Loose Feathers mystery today on the way into work but I forgot my camera so I'll take a photo and add it when I can. I think this was the fastest section so far to stitch as most of it was letters and we all know how fast those can go. And that was all the stitching I managed for the entire long weekend. By the time I got home from the trial each day, I was just plain tired.
I'm very disappointed. My birthday was a month ago and I never received anything from my partner with the Stitching Bloggers Birthday Club. I had over a year to look forward to it and this has been a terrible let down. She posted on that blog the day after my birthday that something would arrive and maybe at some point something will but I'm not really holding out much hope at this point. At least my partner received her birthday gift on time last May and she seemed to like it.
