agility weekend

Yesterday evening was the first time over the past four days that I did any stitching. I'm officially in a slump. But I did manage to start filling in the house. I will do the over stitching on the house that is called for. I think it adds a nice touch.
Here is the progress I've made on my first side of my Petit Etui. At this point I'm not really liking the Vikki Clayton conversion very much at all and I'm torn if I should press on hoping I start to like it or stop where I'm at, pull what I have completed and switch to the Crescent Colours it's charted for. I hate it when doubt creeps in, especially when it's a piece that is important to me. I think I need to pull what CC skeins I have and compare them to the VC and see what's what. Maybe it's just this piece but if all the colors are very different from the Crescent Colours I probably should make the switch.

The past weekend was all about the pugs and our agility careers. We had a two day seminar with one of the leading instructors in our style of handling - Karen Holik. What a good time we had! Karen was so easy to listen to and take instruction from. And we get to see her again in three days! Today is my last day at work until July 8th - tomorrow I'm packing up the agility pugs and we are heading to Eau Claire Wisconsin to attend a three day summer camp with Anne Braue - who is also one of the leading agility instructions currently out there. Three full days of nothing but dogs and agility. For me, it doesn't get better than this. :-)

Both are looking good. As for the conversion -- if you're not going to be happy with it, I would stop right now. I restitched Ho because of a dislike of my HDF conversion and it was well worth it. To me the colors look very different from what the called for fibers look like. I have them kitted -- and they're much brighter. Good luck! And have fun with the dogs and agility!

Camp with your dogs sounds like fun!
I would compare the colors and see how you like them. You need to love the finished product!

Have a great time with the pugs. I would love to see some pics of them doing agility. It sounds great.

Oh, your stitching looks fabulous too. :)

Both look great to me but ... if you aren't happy now you won't be later so make the switch!

Both pieces are looking great - but if you're on the fence about the VC silks, maybe jump ship now and save yourself a lot of grief. I have some of her silks, and I don't seem to like her conversions at all.

I think they are both so beautiful. I Hope you have a great time with the pups.

I agree with the previous posters... if you're not happy now with the colors, change them. I love using Vikki's silks but I think her conversions are very dicey.

Sorry to hear about the slump... I know how hard that is! I am the same way. I just can't get myself going and I know later I will be kicking myself for all the time wasted.

Good luck with the pups!
