Recommended linen and silk fibers
As predicted yesterday, I finished Dresser Drawer Hearts on the way home from work last evening. In fact it was so quick I spent most of the ride home with nothing to work on. :-) I'm usually prepared with a backup project but I didn't know I had so little left when I left home for the train yesterday morning.
Trying at some artsy shots. :-)
Here is my new start - recognize it? What, there is not enough stitched yet?? :-) It's the start of Frederika by Carriage House Samplings. I'm stitching mine on 36 count Antique Gold from Silkweavers using the recommended NPI silks. I'm toying with the notion of stitching both Frederika and Fredrick on the same piece of linen. I didn't cut my fat half apart so I have until I need to start Fredrick to decide. I think that would be cool. And you know what a fan I am of stitching multiple designs on one piece of fabric.
I'm a bit sad that Kathy is not going to be designing anymore. But then I think I'll have less stuff to tempt me and I might be able to get thought my CHS stash. I'm not sure if I'm going to purchase any more. I have plenty to do and someone else will come along in short order and replace her I'm sure and I'll want those instead. :-)

Very pretty finish! Congrats. And I can't wait to watch your progress on Frederika :-).
Your SB piece looks wonderful - that was a quick project! And I like your idea of stitching the two Fred's on one piece of fabric - I think it will look great.
Beautiful finish! The Freds are fun to stitch. Mine are framed in the same frame but not attached. I love them!
WEll, this just confirms it. We were either separated at birth, or I have become your most diligent stalker. I'm doing Frederick and Frederika on the same piece of linen too! (I swear I am! I didn't just decide to do it because of your post today. Really. I promise.)
Love the SB fee-nee. Fabulous!
Beautiful finish...are you going to frame it? I've always loved that lacy frame that it's pictured in on the front of the kit.
Congrats on your finish, it's very pretty! I'm not familiar with your new WIP so I will be watching closely for updates!
I love this finish; right down to the "drawer pulls". I had not seen it before, and now I find myself wanting it, lol! It's gotta be the pulls--I love round, shiny things--I sometimes wonder if I was once a crow!
I can honestly say that I recognized your new start as one of The Freds, though I couldn't pin the gender at a glance. That's how obsessed I am with those silly birds! I'd better "shake a tail feather" about getting them before they go OOP. :(
This belongs on your earlier post, but I didn't know if you'd still see it.....I go to the Int'l Quilt Show in Rosemont every year as well, and today I learned that they will not be back to Illinois next year! They are going to Cincinnati instead! I'm so upset to learn this (it's on their official website), and I wonder if not many people know yet, as I haven't seen anything about it. BIG bummer!

Congratulations, it's beautiful!
Great finish!
As for CHS, I'm still considering whether I need to add any of her older designs to my stash before everything is kaput, or if I should just suck it up and call it a loss.
It's lovely, congratulations
