recommended linen and Dinky-Dyes silk
Did I ever have a productive weekend! First I finished off block two of the Houses of Hawk Run Hollow. Yeah! And I did it on Saturday so I'm still on schedule. :-) Then on Sunday I spent most of the day working on finishing my Garden Chair. I don't think it's very hard but there is a delay between sections while you wait for the glue to dry. The finishing on the second chair is a 100% nicer than the first chair. I even stitched some of the pieces in place this time around - this was something that I thought I should do for the first one but didn't. I'm amazed at how much nicer the finished product is with that little step added. I'm hoping to get to the new piece (the chaise lounge) before much longer. While these chairs are not every one's cup of tea, they really do look cute sitting on the shelves in my crafting corner.
Here is block #2 of the Houses of Hawk Run Hollow.
And a photo of my progress so far. I need to order five skeins of NPI for Block #3 and I'll call Drema today. And as luck would have it, the part that I wanted to start first on the block calls for a skein I don't have so I can't start this until it comes in the mail later in the week.
Here is my progress on the Big Zipper. As you can see I almost have the border finished. I'll get that done on my way home from work tonight. Then the question begs to be asked, should I continue to work on BZ or pick up one of my new Nashville releases? I'm thinking to continue with this. I'm really enjoying it so far and why mess with something that is working? :-)

Oh my gosh, Margie! Your chairs (and your finishing skills) are fantastic!!! Congratulations!
I love your HoHrH. I can't decide between that and the VoHRH but I'm going to have to start one soon, I think.
Last but certainly not least, your pug babies look darling lounging in the sun. Sophie and Gracie did much the same thing yesterday!
Your three pugs are just the cutest little things :) And huge congratulations on your chairs - they both look perfect!!!
your chairs are beautiful,i almost finish the peacock chair, and was more easy that the first one, the house number 2,is beautiful too, and,,the pug,,they look so cute!!!
Wow, Margie! You got so much done! I love how your two chairs look together. And I love checking in to your blog to get my fill of those cute pugs of yours! :D
Both chairs look wonderful! I did the peacock one a while back and wasn't really happy with the finishing, so I don't think I'd want to attempt another one. Congratulations on your finishing, it looks perfect!
HoHRH looks fabulous too, congratulations on getting another block finished!
The finished chairs are lovely and look so pretty together!! I love the second block of HoHRH - and the Pugs are just pug-a-licious!!!!!
I love those chairs, but I'd never manage the finishing, I'm sure! Yours, on the other hand, are spectacular!! What a treat to see the two displayed together!!
The chairs are so cute!! I have the Peacock one and yours is making me want to stitch mine. I'm worried about doing the assembly after it's been stitched though...
Your chairs are absolutely wonderful! I have admired these since they came out, but have resisted mostly because I am afraid of the finishing. The thought of (messy) me flinging glue around next to something I spent so much time stitching is scary!
Sweet chairs! I have recently discovered your blog and tonight I had the time (I should be stitching instead of surfing)to look through your older posts. WOW....I love ALL of your work. I know that sounds corny, but I really do love your design choices. I hope some of your productivity wears off on me. Stunning.
Wow!! your garden chair is adorable!! Great progress on your houses, and your three pugs are just tooooo cute!!!!!
Beautiful chair!!!
Awe, the pugs are so sweet! I have wanted a pug for years now. Maybe one day....
Your chair turned out beautiful! It's a great companion for your Peacock chair! Congrats on finishing block two. I tried to do that this weekend, but it didn't happen! I think I need to devote more than one day to it to reach my goal of a block a month.
OMG, I covet your chairs. What a fantastic job you did on these! I have one of these and have been scared out of my wits to even try to do them. Love your progress on HoHRH too!
Deb
Congratulations on finishing the chair, it's stunning.
Cute photo of the pugs
Your chars are stunning! And you pugs are too cute!
Very nice job on the chair!
Oh Wow! Congrats on an awesome finishing job on your chairs! I have wanted to stitch them, but hesitated due to a fear of finishing them off. Perhaps one day I'll conquer that fear. :)
